Buttermilk Waffles

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups (250g) Flour

  • 10ml Baking Powder

  • 5ml Bicarbonate of Soda

  • 3ml Salt

  • 5 tbsp Sugar

  • 80g Butter, melted

  • 2 large Eggs, separated

  • 15ml Vanilla Extract

  • 500ml Buttermilk, at room temperature

Method

  1. Sift flour, baking powder and bicarbonate into a mixing bowl

  2. Beat in butter, egg yolks, sugar, salt and vanilla

  3. Add buttermilk and mix until smooth

  4. Whisk egg whites until stiff and fold into batter

  5. Cook on waffle iron
