Kladdkaka

Swedish Sticky Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 1â…“ cups (265g) sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ cup (60g) flour

  • ¼ cup (30g) cocoa powder

  • 1 pinch salt

  • ½ cup (115g) butter, melted

  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder

  • Icing sugar

Method

  1. In a stand mixer, whisk the sugar and eggs until the mixture is pale yellow in color.

  2. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

  3. Fold until incorporated.

  4. Mix in the melted butter and vanilla.

  5. Grease a pan with remaining butter and sprinkle cocoa powder to coat.

  6. Pour in batter and smooth out. The batter will be very thick.

  7. Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes or until the top has hardened. The center should still be soft.

  8. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
