Scones

So easy and quick

Ingredients

  • 450g Self-raising Flour

  • Pinch of salt

  • 50g Sugar

  • 200g Butter, chopped in pieces and cold

  • 2 tsp Baking Powder

  • 200-300ml Milk

Method

  1. Put everything except the milk in a food processor and blitz together until crumbed (don't overdo this, you don't want it warming up too much)

  2. Combine the milk slowly in the food processor until the dough comes together.

  3. Knead lightly on a cold, floured surface for a minute.

  4. Rest in fridge for 15 minutes

  5. Roll the dough out until it is about 2cm thick

  6. Cut into 5cm rounds

  7. Egg wash tops only (Egg & milk)

  8. Bake at 220°C for 12 to 15 minutes
